POINT OF VIEW

In the past I routinely began the expression of my ideas by first illustrating them on paper, then transferring the drawings onto a larger surface area before painting them. Joy, pain, humour, deformation, feminine beauty, raw emotion, passion and physical ridicule, were some of the more central and recurring themes in those pieces. Over-life-sized panels of sprawling colour blended and composed into my own hybrid forms of plants, animals and human figures - symbolic representations of “the organic experience”.

These days, I’ve introduced the use of photography to maintain realistic proportions of figures.

But whether the results of this past or current approach is viewed on canvas, wood, glass, plastic or wall, the undulating lines, organic forms, rich pastel colour tones  and erotic but cartoony content that have come to characterise my work, all still remain my main aesthetic and thematic focus.
